Jody Brinley

Agility and Earthdog Instructor.

Jody grew up with dachshunds and then in 1995, having purchased her own home, was ready for a dog.  A former boyfriend had turned her on to the wonderful world of Westies and she was hooked (not by the boyfriend – he's long gone—but on West Highland White Terriers!).  Pretty soon Albuquerque (a.k.a. Albi) was a fixture in her neighborhood.  Albi got Jody researching all the fun things one can do with their dog, and a neighbor told her about earthdog.

Deciding to add to her family, Jody wanted another Westie, but this time a dog who could do earthdog, agility and obedience.  So in February 2000, Tucson, a second Westie, came into her home.  Tucson was purchased to be a performance dog, but Stephanie, Scott and others urged her to also show him in conformation (as did his breeder), so Jody dug in and did it all.  Tucson's first title (and her's too) was his AKC Junior Earthdog in June 2001. The Senior Earthdog Title followed the next June, as did Tucson’s Breed Championship, novice and open agility titles and a Rally Novice & Advanced titles.  As a result, Jody became hooked on all things dog related!

Jody lost her beloved Albi in 2005 and Tucson in 2009. Current Westies in her home include Sonoma (CH Spirit's Put a Cork 'N It, SE),  Hattaras (Bryn Lea's Bella Vista Sunrise, JE) and Montgomery (Bryn Lea’s Southern Gentleman).  She is currently training and trialing the dogs in agility, earthdog and conformation sports.

Jody is an AKC Earthdog Judge and a member of the York County Dog Training Club.  She is also a Canine Ambassador for the American Kennel Club.
