On Sunday, June 14, 2009, the Bella Vista Training Center had the privilege to be the site of the First Annual Keystone Dachshund Races.

Background on the Event:

Keystone Dachshund Races (KDR) was created to promote dachshund racing as a fun gathering for doxie lovers and as a way to raise money for charitable organizations.

KDR is located in South-Central Pennsylvania.

Proceeds from the 2009 Races benefited the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue (CCDR), a National Non-Profit 501(c)(3), all-volunteer organization dedicated to rescuing needy Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes from coast to coast.  Visit the CCDR website at: http://c2cdr.org

The KDR was modeled after the National Dachshund Races, founded by Toni Gossard.

The Details of the Event:

With more than 300 people in attendance, the races were a huge success.  In addition to the main attraction of the races, there were raffles, vendors and a costume contest.  Exhibitors and spectators enjoyed a day out with the Dachshunds.  Plans are now being made for the second annual races in 2010!  For more information please contact:
